One of my favorite things is when old friends from school ask me to document an important day in their lives. It gives us a chance to reconnect and catch up, (plus I get to witness one of the best days of their life!)
This past October, I got the privilege to photograph Izzy and Travis' wedding ceremony on the Pueblo river-walk. They had a quaint, outdoor ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family.
Everyone sat in the stadium, anxiously waiting to see Izzy walking down the stairs. She came around the corner, escorted by the two most important men in her life. Nothing will beat the reaction that Travis had the first time he laid eyes on his bride; his face says it all, and by the end even I had tears in my eyes!
These two exchanged personal vows that were so well written, I might consider asking them to write mine when I get married! But seriously, they were some of the best vows I have ever heard at a wedding, and it still gives me goosebumps thinking about it.
We were under the pavilion, surrounded by vibrant yellow and orange leaves and the weather was perfect for a Colorado October wedding.
After the vows were exchanged everyone jumped from their seats to congratulate the new Mr. and Mrs.
Izzy and Travis greeted each guest and embraced their loved ones with happy tears still running down their cheeks. It was an honor to capture such a happy time in their lives! I loved getting see all their friends gather together, waiting in line to hug the couple.
This day just proved that there is no need to stress about all the small, taxing details that can sometimes take over a wedding day. The most important thing about your wedding is that you are surrounded by the most important and supportive people in your lives, and that at the end of it all... You get to marry your best friend!
Thanks so much to my old friend, Izzy and my new friend, Travis for having me there to capture this beautiful day!
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Martin!
